The 3rd MASHCON was organised by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Flanders Hydraulics and Ghent University – Maritime Technology Division and was held in Ghent from 3 to 5 June 2013.
The main theme of the 3rd MASHCON was ship behaviour in locks, but other aspects of manoeuvring in shallow and confined water were also discussed. 35 papers and 2 keynote speeches were presented and more than 100 participants from 18 countries took part. Once more, the conference proved to be a meeting place between researchers and practitioners, between numerical and physical modelling experts, between developers and users.
