Alternative measures for beach nourishment maintenance. Monitoring of a pilot experiment at Mariakerke. Measuring campaign February – April 2014

In the agenda of the implementation of the Integrated Masterplan for Coastal Safety of the Flemish Government, a pilot experiment to evaluate the suitability of underwater nourishments as a measure to reduce beach nourishment maintenance costs is ongoing. The experiment is undertaken in Mariakerke where a monitoring program is currently ongoing. This report presents the field campaign of water and sediment measurements carried out in the nearshore area of Mariakerke in February - April 2014.
