Verslag 2nd Belgian Hydraulics Day
In 2014, na een pauze van 15 jaar, blies de Direction des Recherches Hydrauliques van SPW opnieuw leven in een bijeenkomst van hydraulici in België, getiteld Belgian Hydraulics day .
In 2015 wenste het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium dit initiatief verder te zetten. Maandag 5 oktober verzamelden meer dan 70 hydraulici van heel België zich in het WL.
Deelnemers hadden de keuze uit drie sessies:
Sessie 1
- Sebastien Erpicum (Ulg): Towards a better understanding of flows over Piano key weirs
- Didier Bousmar (LRH Châtelet): Rebuilding the fish pass of Rivière: experimental and numerical studies
- David Gallach Sánchez (UGent): Experimental study of overtopping behaviour of steep low-crested coastal structures
- Jeroen Vercruysse (WL): Stilling basin design of combined inlet-outlet structures for flood control areas with controlled reduced tide
- Introductory presentation to scale model visit: Kristof Verelst (WL) + visit of physical model “Influence of breaking logs on flow patterns induced by lock filling with gate openings”.

- Petrovic Dragana (ULB); Densitometric probe based on non-differential pressure: the technique allowing to follow suspended matter loads at very high concentrations
- Stéphan Creëlle (UGent): The importance of confluences in hydraulic network models of rivers and canals
- Emmanuel Cornet (WL) : Discharge measurements @ Flanders Hydraulics Research
- Elin Vanlierde (WL) : Sediment measurements @ Flanders Hydraulics Research + visit of measuring instruments Hydrological Information Centre

- Boudewijn Decrop (UGent): Numerical and Experimental Modelling of Near-Field Overflow Dredging Plumes
- Sandra Soares-Frazão (UCL): Modelling fast transient flows and morphological evolution in rivers
- Laurent Schindfessel (UGent): Large-Eddy Simulations of an Open-Channel Confluence
- Patrick Luyten (KBIN -OD Natuur): COHERENS - a numerical tool for the management of the marine coastal environment
